Eva was born of a mixed family. Here father is from Peru, and her mother is from Quebec. As a result, Eva has a rich family history, which has lead to her unique singing abilities.

After graduating from high school she found herself working as a postal clerk and a beauty consultant. Eventually she ended up on the Canadian Idol show in its fourth season, where she made it to the Top 2 finalists.

Eva eventually went on to win the 2006 Canadian Idol crown. This earned her a record deal with Sony BMG Canada, a song produced by Cyndi Lauper and she will be part of Martina McBride's Canadian tour within a year.
