Darin Brooks was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. After playing the role of Rapunzel's Prince in "Into the Woods" in high school, Brooks was hooked on acting. He has studied with Ivana Chubbuck and at Carter/Thor Studios here in Los Angeles. Two years ago, casting director Kathy Henderson referred him to an agent who urged him to move to Los Angeles. With only a monologue on tape, Brooks had a general meeting with "Days of our Lives'" casting director, Fran Bascom and he was brought in to producers for the role of Max. "It all happened at once and so fast! It was unbelievable," said Brooks. "'Days' stepped up, so here I am!" His one professional credit is a short movie by Toby Wilkins called "Staring at the Sun" that is making the rounds on the festival circuit.
Brooks' first love and passion is surfing, but admits that the California waters "are dirty and cold; I'm spoiled so I've surfed minimally out here."
Other sports he enjoys include skateboarding, baseball, soccer and football. Brooks also plays guitar, bass and drums.
