Coleen was a member of one of Europe and the Far East's most successful female groups of all time - The Nolans.
Coleen retired from the group to raise a family but then returned to the entertainment industry as a very popular television presenter on shows like Loose Women, This Morning and The Wright Stuff.
Coleen is the youngest member of the incredible Nolan family who have entertained audiences worldwide for the last three decades. Together they were one of the finest female groups of all time and are recognized throughout the entertainment industry as one of the slickest acts of their generation.
Coleen's older sisters were already making a name for themselves when she was still at school but the groups 1980 Summer Season at Blackpool's Opera House saw Coleen's introduction to The Nolans in dramatic circumstances. The final night of that season arrived in October and was overwrought with emotion for the whole family. Anne was four months pregnant and was set to leave the group at the end of the summer season run.
The next few moments set a poignant landmark in the Nolans history. 15 year old Coleen swallowed her own tears in the wings and bravely stepped into the spotlights to complete the number alone. Even the audience found it difficult to remain dry-eyed as they witnessed this heart rendering display of open affection.
Coleen's acceptance into the group that night was dramatic and the stance with which she controlled her emotions more than proved her worth. Still 5 months away from her 16th birthday, her age was legally restrictive and Coleen was only allowed to participate fully in 80 shows per year.
Coleen's courage, character and determination are evident in the events described above and these have been to the fore throughout her career. She's always been focused and has an inner strength that sets her apart from many of her peers. Coleen was always one of the most popular members of the Nolans group and allied to her bubbly personality lies a superb vocal talent.
Coleen is a terrific entertainer and can sing a ballad better than most. Coleen knows how to 'sell' a song, living out the lyrics and her own solo spot in the Nolans concerts was always a highlight for many of us.


Coleen first appeared at the ABC in Blackpool at the grand old age of two! After many years touring the British clubs with her family, they finally got their big break on "The Cliff Richard Series" for the BBC. Coleen was now 9 years old. The list of 'greats' The Nolans have worked with is endless - Stevie Wonder, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Bob Hope and they supported probably the greatest of them all, Frank Sinatra on his 1975 European tour.

oleen retired from The Nolans to bring up her two sons, Shane and Jake following her marriage to TV star Shane Richie. In 1999, following the break-up of their relationship, Coleen was invited to appear as a guest on Trisha's "Celebrity Heartbreak" programme.
at documentary led to her being asked to appear as a guest on another show, ITV's popular lunchtime chat show "Loose Women". With her honesty and wonderful sense of humour, Coleen was offered the role of regular guest presenter on the show.
Coleen also appeared on the daytime magazine programme "This Morning" - one of the most popular and successful programmes broadcast in the UK and was later invited to host the show!
