Samia's mum Patsy met a French-Lebanese diver when she and her band Deep Emotion were touring the Middle East.
He left the diving industry, she gave up showbiz and they moved to Salford to run an off-licence. Samia and her brother
Tariq were born there and when their parents divorced, they chose to stay in Salford with Patsy.

Her big break came when she was 11 with a part in the TV series 'Cracker', when she appeared as Fitz's daughter's best
friend Rosie. After her big break in 'Cracker', she made a sci-fi programme, 'Life Force' with Paul Fox, who played Mike
Baldwin's son Mark, she also did stints in 'Children's Ward', 'Adam's Family Tree', she appeared in 'Heartbeat' (twice),
'Cops` and `Doctors' where she had to pretend to give birth.

Samia has appeared in two feature films, she had one scene in 'Bobs's Weekend' the film was made in 1996, but was only
released at the end of 2001, it stars Bruce Jones (Les Battersby in 'Coronation Street') in the title role.


Before joining 'Coronation Street', Samia starred in 'There's Only One Jimmy Grimble'as Jimmy's girlfriend Sara. On the set
she met her ex-boyfriend Ciaran Griffiths who played Psycho. Ciaran later appeared in 'Coronation Street' as Dean Sykes.

Samia beat Hear'say's Suzanne Shaw and Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud to her Street part.
