Michael Zhang is Chinese-American actor. Michael Zhang, a Chinese American actor, was born in Naperville IL. Michael's family is originally from southern mainland China, immigrating to the United States with little money and no English ability shortly before Michael was born. After his parents achieved their slice of the American dream by starting a successful medical practice in Sacramento CA, his family took step of moving to LA to enable Michael and his younger brother Matthew Zhang to achieve their dream of acting.

He first gained notice for his stand-up comedy, having performed material he wrote at the young age of 12 at the world famous Hollywood Improv, leading to a number of dramatic roles in festival short films and a continuing part as a panelist on the Internet series "Fresh Perspectives." Michael got his big break when famed casting directors Sarah Finn and Randi Hiller became fans of his work and recommended him to Joss Whedon for a small supporting role in the summer blockbuster "The Avengers 2012". Soon after, Michael would get the opportunity to act in his first major role in a feature film, "Space Warriors (2013)," landing the role of 'Bao Yuen' after four auditions and a massive nationwide talent search. Beyond the hard work he put in to the role, he attributes imitating his mother's accent as helping him land the part. His passion for all things Hollywood is also spurring him to explore work behind the camera both editing and filmmaking.

He hopes to one day write and direct a film of his own by learning everything he can about the entertainment industry. When not pursuing his career, Michael's hobbies include Kung Fu and he is an accomplished violinist. He also has a passion for technology, business, and computers and cites Steve Jobs as one of his non-Hollywood idols.
