A hybrid in many ways, Mercedes Leggett truly is a woman of diversity. Being born to a Scottish Canadian father and a Filipina mother has blessed Mercedes with the constant question of “What is your heritage?” Her unique look and raw talent has lead Mercedes to be cast in a variety of ethnic roles-- her first role being the Native American student “Mirage” in the first X-MEN. She played a Persian concubine in the box office smash hit 300, a Hawaiian anchorwoman in the thriller A PERFECT GETAWAY, a mix of a Mexican and Native American in the hit Italian mini-series DOC WEST, an Ancient Greek High Priestess in IMMORTALS and again a Native American in RITES OF PASSAGE.

Growing up, Mercedes was an accomplished athlete and model. As a senior in high school she was both a Toronto wide star basketball player and Miss Canada in the Miss Asia Pacific competition. Finishing in the top ten at Miss Asia Pacific, Mercedes took home the prize of Miss Lux Superrich Hair. After returning home from the pageant Mercedes opted not to take the basketball scholarship offered by a Division 1 NCAA university, but rather, she pursued her acting career. She studied with renowned acting coach Lewis Baumander and started working on Toronto TV series KEVIN HILL and TILT. Additionally she became the ROOTS Canada model of the year. Her billboards and editorial ads were seen everywhere.
