Bosworth first appeared alongside best friend Lauren Conrad and former classmates, Stephen Coletti and Kristin Cavallari, on an MTV reality program called Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. She and her friends had their lives filmed during their senior year of high school and the following summer prior to college. Bosworth appeared as a regular in Season 1, and made a couple of appearances in the 2nd season.

When Conrad left Laguna for The Hills, she and Bosworth stayed close friends and was later added to the cast as a secondary cast member in the 3rd season. Bosworth appeared to show slightly more of her personal life in season 4 of The Hills, and even more in season 5 allowing the cameras into her work-place. She was billed as a 'returning cast-member' for season 5 part 2, despite Conrad's departure, where she played friend to all & Cavallari (also from Laguna, whom replaced Conrad as lead role, after the 5th season of the series). Despite rumors of not returning, Bosworth is currently filming the 6th and final season.
