Jonathan Powell age 24 from Cardiff, is a singer/songwriter & multi-instrumentalist who released his debut album 'Forgive this Day' in 2009 and his second album 'The Flight & Other Stories' in 2011. Tracks from both albums won him fans at places as diverse as BBC Radio, 6Music, Q Radio and The Sun.

In 2011, Jonathan signed a publishing deal with Peer Music, he performed at venues and festivals across the UK, U.S and Europe including The British Showcase Stage at The Midem Interceltique Festival in Cannes, SXSW in Austin, Texas, Hop Farm Fest, Beach Break Live and the Greenman Festival. Jonathan's childhood was filled with music and his career began when, as a teenage viola virtuoso, he won the National Chamber Music Competition five times followed by a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music from the early age of 16. By the age most people dare to think about a career in music, Jonathan was ripping up what he had learned. He strayed from classical to pop at 18 and, after taking an award-winning play to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he stayed in the city. It was a turning point. Immersed in Edinburgh's music scene, his ability as a singer and multi-instrumentalist matured. His ability matched his ambition and his own songs poured out.

His blend of influences can echo Elbow or Jeff Buckley in an incredibly versatile vocal, but can equally hint at songwriting heroes; David Bowie, Ben Folds and Sufjan Stevens. And they are all distinctly Jonathan Powell. He returned to Cardiff, wrote his first two albums, started the record label Still Small Voice Music on which to release them and in the process, began working as co-producer on several local artists albums including singer/songwriter Sion Russell Jones, Tomos Lewis and more recently as co-writer & co-producer on Charlotte Church's next album which is due for release in Summer 2012. Jonathan will release his third album in the Autumn 2012.
