Jason Gray-Stanford was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He decided to pursue acting by the time he got to high school. He attended and holds a BFA in theater from the University of British Columbia.

Jason began his career dubbing Japanese cartoons into English, and he went on to star in films such as Mystery, Alaska and A Beautiful Mind.

Jason has appeared in numerous U.S. and Canadian television series. His biggest TV role is playing Lieutenant Randy Disher in the TV series Monk, which currently airs on the USA Network.
