Hollywood star John Travolta arrived in the Bahamas Wednesday to testify at the trial of two local men accused of trying to extort 25 million dollars from him following the death earlier this year of his teenage son. The two-time Oscar-nominee, who starred in the hit films "Saturday Night Fever" and "Pulp Fiction," arrived here under tight security for the trial of ex-senator Pleasant Bridgewater and ambulance driver Tarino Lightbourne. The actor alighted from a sports utility vehicle and was ushered into the Royal Bahamas Police Station situated across from the courthouse, ahead of his testimony later Wednesday. The defendants allegedly threatened to make public details about the death of Jett Travolta, 16, if the money they demanded was not paid. Testimony got underway on Tuesday, with the first two of a planned 14 prosecution witnesses taking the stand. Jett Travolta died in January after suffering a seizure at the family's oceanfront vacation home on Grand Bahama Island. Source: AFP
