British actress Lucy Gordon, who featured in the film Spider-Man 3, has been found dead after apparently committing suicide, French police said on Thursday.

She was found in her flat in the 10th arrondissement of Paris on Wednesday, two days before her 29th birthday.

Media reported she had hanged herself.

"We confirm the death of Lucy Gordon in an apparent suicide," police said.

The actress played the role of Jennifer Dugan, a British reporter, in Spider-Man 3 and was working on a film on French musician Serge Gainsbourg, in which she played his British wife, the actress and singer Jane Birkin.
