LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Kelsey Grammer, whose latest sitcom "Back to You" was recently axed by Fox after just one season, is eyeing a quick return to primetime with a starring role on ABC's comedy pilot "Roman's Empire."

The project centers on a lovable guy (played by Nick Thune) who, after getting dumped by his girlfriend (Christine Woods), tries but can't extricate himself from her wealthy family. Grammer will play Roman, her outrageous, overbearing father.

Also cast in the pilot are Laura Leigh and Carla Gallo as the family's two other daughters.
