Kelly Clarkson, who elegances the swathe of the August issue of Self magazine, offers some insight into the meaning behind some of her songs. Clarkson’s “My December” album was one of her most personal records because she inked the lyrics herself. Here’s what Kelly was thinking when she wrote the songs… • “Never Again” is about a bad breakup, and you find out you’re more mad at yourself. As in What’s wrong with me that I’d date you?... • “One Minute” is where you’re trying to figure it out and deal with a horrible issue… • “Hole” is about trying to be happy because you’re in the public eye, and you start filling this hole with different things… • “Sober” is how you can’t fill the hole… • “Be Still” which is like, OK, I need to calm down… • “How I Feel” you’re getting back on your feet but thinking, Why am I single? What’s wrong with me? I’m never going to find anyone. I’m going to die alone with cats! • “Irvine” refers to the lowest point in my life, it’s a real person thing, so I’ll probably never tell the world what it’s about
