LOS ANGELES (AFP) - The daughter of "king of rock" Elvis Presley admitted Friday she is pregnant with her third child after paparazzi photos were published showing her expanding waistline.

"After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant," a seething Lisa Marie Presley said on her MySpace web page.

Singer Presley, 40, married her fourth husband Michael Lockwood, a musician and her producer, in January 2006 in Japan. Her two children, age 18 and 15, are from her first marriage to Danny Keough.

The daughter of the "king of rock" Elvis famously became the wife of "king of pop" Michael Jackson for a year and a half, and was then married briefly to actor Nicolas Cage in 2002.

A follower of Scientology like her mother Priscilla, Presley has released two albums since 2003, both of which reached the US top 10 and sold more than a million copies each.

Presley was nine years old when her father Elvis died in 1977 at the age of 42.
