Angelina Jolie journeyed up to the California shoreline to accept the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's "Performance of the Year" award.

The 32-year-old actress was privileged on Saturday for her depiction of Mariane Pearl, wife of assassinated journalist Daniel Pearl, in the film "A Mighty Heart." It's one of many awards Jolie has got for the role, but amongst the few she's individually taken.

She told the Associated Press Television News that "To be honest, I just heard that it was a beautiful festival, and one to take seriously.”

The prize was given by Clint Eastwood, director of Jolie's forthcoming drama "The Changeling."

She said that "Clint Eastwood? Don't get me started. I could talk forever about him. I could turn the whole evening into a Clint Eastwood evening. ... I think he's just a genuinely great guy. He's nice to everybody on set."
