| Biography of Emma Shapplin |
Emma Shapplin started her music career with performing classical music but then moved to hard rock and found out that although rock gives her more artistic freedom, it is still not enough for her, so she decided to create her own style,[1] which became a combination of archaic opera and modern trance and/or pop music. Although she was raised in French language, Shapplin decided to perform in ancient Italian, because, according to her, "it's a language that sings naturally".[1]
Fairly unknown in the United States until composer Graeme Revell used her voice on his score for the movie Red Planet. They later collaborated on her second album Etterna, with Revell producing all of her songs. Her most famous song is Spente Le Stelle Yomanda Mix that she sang together with the Swedish cult figure Eddie Meduza in Stockholm in 1998. |
