Mello began acting in a community theatre as a child. As a teenager; Mello made her professional debut as a guest star on Boy Meets World, soon followed by 7th Heaven. She was cast as Rachel, a regular, on the quality series Nothing Sacred (1997-1998), but it didn't last long enough for her to make a solid empression. Despite her advanced years, Mello plays Lily Esposito, Sam's best friend and teen activist on Popular.
