Marshevet Hooker was born on September 25, 1984. She is 23 years old. She attended Southwest High School in San Antonio, Texas and graduated in 2003. She went on to the University of Texas, where she is an eight time All-American, and helped the school win its fourth NCAA track and field outdoor title.

She wanted to pursue a professional track and field career, so in June 2006, she waived her last season of eligibility with Texas so she could concentrate on a professional track and field career. She was the Big 12 Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the year for 2005 and 2006.

In 2007, she was 1st in the 60m at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games and 1st at the Tyson Invitational.

Thus far in 2008, she placed 2nd at the Reebok Grand Prix and 2nd at Kingston. She placed 3rd in the 200m at the Adidas Track Classic.
