Laura Toogood is a model, writer and academic. Toogood holds a PhD in Social and Community Informatics. She achieved a First Class honours degree from University College Dublin in 2006 and won two scholarships and direct entry to a PhD programme. She completed her doctorate in 2010 at the age of 25, before graduating the following year.

The same year Toogood was also the social media consultant to British high street brand Jigsaw (clothing retailer) and produced/presented Jigsaw TV. A feature writer, Toogood also edits a British luxury lifestyle magazine called The Sloaney. Toogood has competed in a number of international equestrian competitions. A former member of the British Junior Three Day Eventing team, Toogood competed at the Junior European Championships in 2002 riding her bay gelding, The Fieldmaster and finished second best of the British. Toogood was also shortlisted for the British U21 team. She later represented Ireland in a home international dressage competition riding Ruxton Silberstern. Represented by International Model Management in London and Assets Model Agency in Dublin, Toogood has previously worked for Armani. Toogood gave top riders some tips about how to model when doing a charity fashion for Spinal Research.
