John Speredakos made his career as an actor. After graduating from college, he took classes in acting at University of Scranton. He gained insights in acting in the company of Glenda Jackson. He also went to Rutgers University and got her MFA from there. In his career, he portrayed a number of characters in films well as television. Some of the most prominent film works are The Innkeepers, Bitter Feast, Cayman Went, The House of the Devil, I Sell the Dead, The Last Winter, Unconscious, Inside Man, Fantastic Four, The Roost, Town Diary, The Trade, Wendigo and Rules of Engagement.

He also associated himself with a number of television works. Some of the most well known are Brewster Place, New York Undercover, Sirens, Return to Lonesome Dove, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, 100 Centre Street, The Education of Max Bickford, All My Children, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order, Weekends at Bellevue and Onion SportsDome. In All My Children, he portrayed a prominent character named George Milligan. He also worked in Blue Bloods as Gerry O'Brien. In 1990’s, he portrayed the role of a waiter for directors Joel and Ethan Coen to bring alive an commercial for Dime Bank.
