Combining glamour, rock ‘n roll and a healthy organic lifestyle was never going to be easy, but for ex model Jo Wood, wife of Rolling Stones guitarist and artist Ronnie Wood, it was a choice 18 years ago that was to define her as a pioneer & committed supporter of all things natural and organic.

Jo was the face of the Sun in 1972, and modelled for numerous magazines, newspapers and album covers during this time. She was also the mascot of HMS Caledonia.Jo presented for BBC1’s Nationwide trend reports, and she used to make and style Ronnie’s stage clothes with the Rolling Stones with her great friend Lorraine, who ran the label No Scruples. Jo still styles Ronnie’s stage clothes to this day.

Jo and Ronnie have been together for 30 years and between them they have 4 children - Jamie, Jesse, Leah and Tyrone, and 4 grandchildren. Jo has toured the world with Ronnie and the family since 1977 and is infamous for travelling with her own portable cooker so she can make an organic fry up wherever they are travelling in the world! The family have lived in both New York and Los Angeles and are now firmly settled with homes in London and Co Kildare, Ireland.

Jo’s personal journey began after falling ill in 1989 and discovering that a switch to an all-organic diet improved her health dramatically. Finding herself fascinated by the subject, Jo gradually moved towards making everything in her and her family’s life organic (Jo’s eldest son fondly teases her that she is extreme organic!). She has two organic gardens, and everything in the Wood household is organic.

However, Jo still found it hard to find skin care products that were completely organic and yet also luxurious and sophisticated, so she decided to make them herself.

After years spent mixing her own oils for her own personal use, family and friends in what Jo now fondly refers to as her ‘home laboratory’, 2005 saw the launch of Jo Wood Organics, a sophisticated and decadent range of organic bath and body care products, cementing Jo’s dedication to a natural, organic and eco lifestyle. The years that have followed have seen the Jo Wood Organics brand gain respect within the organics industry and Jo herself become a well-known advocate for organic living with appearances on television, at award ceremonies and industry events.

o’s inspiration for her two Jo Wood Organics ranges is influenced by her passion for Africa; Jo’s mother is South African, and can trace family ancestors to the Zulu’s. The fragrances have been given Swahili and Xhosa names, Amka, Usiku, Tula and Langa. Jo and her family visit Africa each year and Jo & Ronnie have a Carbon Neutral Wood’s Wood in Mozambique where trees are planted to offset carbon emissions. Jo & Ronnie have also both been long-standing supporters of the Tusk Trust.

The brand's design influences stem from Jo’s eclectic rock n’ roll edge, her love of 1970’s BIBA from her modelling days and the decadent and beautiful Art Nouveau movement. Leah Wood is also the face of Jo Wood Organics alongside Jo.
