Elizabeth Marvel is an American actress. Marvel was born in Orange County, California, but raised in Mohnton, Pennsylvania. She studied at Juilliard. Marvel has appeared in two films by the Coen Brothers: True Grit as the adult Mattie Ross, and Burn After Reading. She also appears in the film The Bourne Legacy as a CIA operative. In 2012, she played the role of Ms. Jolly in Lincoln and played a secretary in Hyde Park on Hudson.

She returned to the role she originated Off-Broadway of Brooke Wyeth in Other Desert Cities, which was played by Rachel Griffiths at first. She will be coming back to Broadway in the upcoming revivial of Picnic. In 2009, for her performance in Fifty Words, she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Play. She has won Obie Awards for her work in Therese Raquin, Hedda Gabler, A Streetcar Named Desire and Misalliance. She was a series regular on The District, and has appeared on 30 Rock, Lights Out, Nurse Jackie, The Good Wife, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Person of Interest.
