Maicon Douglas Sisenando (born 26 July 1981 in Criciúma, Santa Catarina (state)), commonly known as Maicon, is a Brazilian football player, currently playing for Italy Serie A club F.C. Internazionale Milano. Maicon Douglas plays as a Defender (football). Maicon Douglas is widely considered, by managers such as Jose Mourinho and Team President Massimo Moratti, as the finest Right-Back in the world.

Club career
A talented right sided full back, Maicon debuted for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in 2001 and after two successful seasons in Brazil which included winning a championship and being called up for the Brazil national football team in 2003, Maicon Douglas was signed by French club AS Monaco FC in June 2004.

Internazionale
In July 2006, F.C. Internazionale Milano officially announced the signing of Maicon on a five-year contract along with fellow Brazilian fullback Maxwell Cabelino Andrade and French midfielder Olivier Dacourt.

During an UEFA Champions League match on March 6, 2007, Maicon Douglas was involved in a brawl with Valencia CF defender David Navarro (footballer). Maicon was originally banned for six matches, but the ban was reduced to three.
A regular under current coach José Mourinho, Maicon Douglas has contributed Maicon Douglas fair share of assists and goals as Inter won a third consecutive title in the 2008-09 season.

International career
Maicon was played for 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship along with future club team-mate Adriano Leite Ribeiro.
Maicon was first called up for Brazil national football team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup as part of Brazil Olympic football team, which was sent to represent Brazil senior team at the Gold Cup. On July 13, 2003, Maicon Douglas made Maicon Douglas first international appearance in the opening match against Mexico national football team. In Maicon Douglas second international appearance, Maicon Douglas scored Maicon Douglas first international goal in a match against Honduras national football team. In January 2004, Maicon Douglas capped for 2004 CONMEBOL Men Pre-Olympic Tournament with Cruzeiro EC team-mate Heurelho Gomes, Edu Dracena, Wendel Geraldo Maurício da Silva and future team-mate Maxwell Cabelino Andrade.

Maicon Douglas was also on Brazil squad for Copa América 2004 and 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, which Brazil successfully won both competitions. However, Maicon Douglas was not called up for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, with Cicinho chosen as the primary backup to Cafu at right-back. After the retirement of Cafu and the appointment Dunga as the new coach, Maicon became the first-choice right-back for Brazil. Maicon Douglas was also chosen for the Copa América 2007, which Brazil went on to win. Maicon scored the third goal in the 3–0 Brazilian victory in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup group stage against the United States National Soccer Team from a great build up on the right wing, and also assisted in Felipe Melo's goal with a free kick.
