Brian Patrick Dawkins Sr. (born October 13, 1973 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American football player who currently plays free safety for the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. Dawkins attended Clemson University, starting as strong safety for three years. He is widely considered to be one of the best safeties in the NFL. Selected four times to play in the Pro Bowl, Dawkins is infamous for his bone-crushing hits on opposing players, most notably Michael Vick and Alge Crumpler. On April 28, 2003, Dawkins was awarded with a seven-year contract from the Philadelphia Eagles

While attending Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida, Dawkins was an All-State selection, and helped lead his team to 30 consecutive victories.

Dawkins is married to his high school sweetheart, Connie. Together, they have two children, Brian, Jr. and Brionni. Dawkins is also a devoted Christian and an inspirational leader on his team. Philadelphia fans often fondly refer to Dawkins as Wolverine or Weapon X for his fearless attitude and intense style of play.
